NESTÁRNOUCÍ UWE
Zatímco prvních šest míst na RP2 obsadili čeští UltraBikeři, nejrychlejším zahraničním závodníkem je zatim nestárnoucí Uwe Mosig.

Tento 58lety veterán z Německa prohání o generaci mladší bombarďáky, a protože bydlí blízko našich hranic, ...mluví i solidně česky.

Po příjezdu na Holenský Dvůr se s námi podělil o zážitek z liduprázdného ranního Krumlova.

Ze zahraničních účastníků RACZ26 jede skvěle také osmý Michal Vyšinský (SVK) nebo dvanáctý Mike Jewell (GBR).

PETR OBRÁZEK NA TŘETÍM MÍSTĚ... NA FULLU 😱
Michala Duška bohužel vyřadily ze závodu odřeniny sedacích partií, a tak se nám na třetí posunul Petr Obrázek. Hned při své první účasti v UltraBikers Cupu bojuje o nejvyšší příčky.

Petr je jedním ze zhruba pěti... účastníků RACZ26, kteří závod absolvují na horském kole, a vůbec jediným na "celopéru".

Odpoledne ho trochu potrápilo vedro, na RP2 proto strávil 2 hodiny a v podvečerních teplotách se chystá na noční tah.

Dýchat na záda mu bude čtvrtý Martin Podstata, který opustil Holenský Dvůr jen pár minut po něm.

SECOND GALLERY FROM FIRST DAY
Peťa Janíček is continuously providing us with more great photos from the Race Across Czechia 2026.

The weather was perfect - sunny, 25 degrees and a backwind.

The hills were tough, on the first 192km section our Riders climbed almost 4000m of ...elevation.
But the reward was extra sweet - beautiful views ... and good beer during the breaks.

SUPPORT FROM DOMESTICI
Same as last year, our Race is again accompanied by a team of Domestici, mostly family and friends of initiator of the project Martin Souček.

Zdeňka and her young assistants Nelča, Kája, Maťa and Teuš unexpectedly surprise Riders along the Route and offer ...them welcomed refreshments and lovely encouragement from the four girls.

Mainly their station in Strážný at 245 km was a huge help, thank to them Riders could refill water, grab some food and drinks for a night push, or stay overnight.

By the way, Martin Souček, enjoys the role of "Domestique" for his friend Tomáš Hruška, who pushes his limits with every kilometer and although it is starting to hurt a little, he is clearly enjoying our this year´s edition. Martin and Tomáš hold second place in pairs and are riding in about 80th place overall.

COLD FIRST NIGHT
So, the first night of the Race is behind us. Although it was quite pleasant during the day, at night the temperatures dropped to 5 °C.

After demanding first section, many Riders decided to recharge their batteries and use the overnight stays we organized in ...Prášily, Kvilda or Strážný. The slower Riders even stayed in Železná Ruda. And if you look back at the GPS Tracking, you can count about 20 Riders who decided to push through the night. Big respect to all of them!

In any case, the reward for a pinch of discomfort was an amazing superblack night under shining stars, in wilderness of Šumava national park. The magical atmosphere of deserted mountains awaited on Riders also this morning.

The Leader of RACZ26 is still Tomáš Křováček, who has gained a relatively large lead - the second Michal Dušek (16) is more than 80 km behind him, with Jirka Turek (89) on his heels in third.

A great step forward was made by the newcomer to bikepacking races Dávid Deutscha (140), who jumped from 16th place to 6th compared to RP1.

And Klára Burdová (65) also had a great run - another ultratrail defector climbed 17 positions to 12th place and leads the women's category ahead of Martina (33) and Julka (4).

On the short route, Lukáš Blail (12) is at the top. Jindra Hršel (70) fought his way up from 26th place (in general) to eleventh, and is second on 800km Route. Piero Sestak is third.

After 22 hours of racing, we have the first scratch - Carsten Vater from Germany was eliminated from well-started Race due to damaged front wheel. The second morning in particular is always the most critical during RACZ, so let's keep our fingers crossed that there will be as few DNFs as possible today. After Český Krumlov, big hills will be over and the Route will be flying ;-)

GHANSKÁ STŘELA LETÍ ŠUMAVOU
Dalším váženým přeběhlíkem z ultratrailu do světa bikepackingu je Titus Ablorh. Čech s ghanskými kořeny přezdívaný Ghanská střela je několikanásobným finišem UTMB a vítězem několika běžeckých závodů nejen u nás ale i po Evropě.
...
Mrkněte kolik sil mu sebral dnešní náročný den a jaké má plány na noc.

Tomáš Křováček taky letí jako střela a po 15h už má v nohách přes 300km a fičí směr Český Krumlov 😱

MARTIN PODSTATA ROZJEL PŘI SVÉ PREMIÉŘE BOJ O PÓDIUM
Zatím největším překvapením prvního dne je průběžné třetí místo Martina Podstaty (č. 49), který si na RACZ odbývá svou ultracyklistickou premiéru - dosud nikdy neujel v kuse více než 300km.

Se zkušenostmi ...spíše s triatlony a pouze výletním bikepackingem, dorazil s úsměvem na tváři na RP1 v Prášilech na třetím místě, pouze 28min za aktuálním lídrem Tomem Křováčkem. Druhý jede Michal Dušek s mankem 12min.

ČESKÝ LES
First 130km leads through remoted Area of Český Les mountain, where Riders enjoys deep forests and huge plains with golden grass.

But these landscapes are not for free. The elevation gain is rising, mainly ascent to Čerchov is true "leg killer", with 12% slope ...sections.

Riders also passed through first big attraction of the Route, breathtaking ruin of St. Jan Křtitel church.
